Unique Hunting Opportunities Around the World

HUNT Experience #1 |
Australia

Outfitter offers premium hunts on multiple concessions  that span more than 2 million acres for bantang, buffalo, rusa, hog deer and more!  Australia’s premiere big game hunt is the combination of water buffalo and banteng and is one of the most exciting and dangerous game hunts in the South Pacific.  The best time for the combo hunt in the Northern Territories of Australia is the dry season, which runs approximately from June to September starting from Darwin.
Water buffalo were imported to Australia in the 19th century to supply meat to remote northern settlements. The settlements and their buffalo were abandoned in 1949 and, despite harvesting for meat, hides and as hunters' trophies, feral buffalo spread across the northern floodplains. Water Buffalo are bigger than Cape Buffalo and every bit as mean with the hunt being  the traditional spot-and-stalk.
The domesticated form of the banteng was first introduced to Australia in 1849 with the establishment of a British military outpost on the Cobourg Peninsula. Twenty animals were taken to the western Arnhem Land, in present-day Northern Territory, as a source of meat.  On the departure of British troops, the banteng were released from their grazing pastures and allowed to form a feral population. The initial population had grown from twenty in 1849 to a population on the Cobourg Peninsula of 10,000 head, making the population in the Northern Territory the largest in the world.

New Zealand

New Zealand is known for its pristine vast countryside and the outfitters will be sure to please with their knowledge of the trophy game and making sure the customer is taken care of.   Outfitter located on the South Island out of Christ Church with luxury hunting lodge accommodations and access to  exclusive multiple private properties.
Red Stags were introduced to New Zealand back in the 1850s and have flourished since with rich vegetation and no large predators.  New Zealand is a sub tropical island paradise that gives the perfect growing conditions for the trophy red stag. They can be hunted from February to July with the Rut being March to mid-May.  During the rut, the red stags “roar” and challenge other males for dominance.  Nothing can send the chills down a spine than experiencing the Red Stag rut in New Zealand.
Himalayan tahr with their beautiful mane are one of the most beautiful trophies in New Zealand.  A challenging hunt that can be done with helicopter or access to mountains with 4 wheelers than by foot.   The rut is from May to July and their coats are best in the New Zealand winter time (June-August).  Chamois are originally from Europe and another sought after trophy.  Their rut is May/June and hunted in the mountains.
Fallow deer have too flourished in New Zealand and a very worthy trophy to take while in New Zealand. The Arapawa Ram introduce from Europe and easily distinguished by their large curled horns and  woolly coats and make for a beautiful, unusual  trophy to bring home.    For the bird hunters:  Merriam turkeys are also found on the island and Paradise ducks.  If you are a fisherman, you may want to try your hand at brown trout, they can get up to 30 lbs (the biggest on record is 42 lbs!)

Muntjac and Chinese Water Deer slam – unique and mysterious animals!

Outfitter offers 5 nights 4 days hunting combo for these two unique species with season being October to February.

History on the these two species:

The Chinese Water Deer is a species native to China and Korea, and it was first introduced in England in 1870. Its original habitat is swamps, reed areas and open pastures. Their head is long and narrow, without antlers. They have a uniquely featured long upper canines extending below the lower jar, making the animal’s distinctive appearance. The males’ canines are 50-60 millimeters long, while the females’ is only 6 millimeters long. These canine teeth serve as a weapon for the bucks during mating season, which is late autumn and early winter. The water deer are solitary.

The Muntjac Deer originates from China and were introduced in England around the 1900s.  Males have short, single spike, backward-pointing antlers. The mating season lasts throughout the year.

Hunting for Muntjac is mostly consists of stalking around open fields in the early morning and late afternoon hours.  As Muntjacs are highly territorial, they are expected to keep their own routes and feeding places, so previously scouted and spotted animals likely to appear at the same places routinely.

HUNT Experience |
Scotland

1
00% wild and fair chase hunting for red deer is one of the most exciting and exceptional hunting values today
Scotland is known for the hunt of the majestic Scottish Highland stag and this is a chance for the hunter to sample a unique way of hunting for the free ranging Hill stag.   The hunt is conducted in the moors on thousands of acres of open range misty mountain heather.  As this is a traditional hunt, the method has changed very little in many years. A typical day you will go afield in an Argo which is perfectly suited for this terrain. The hunter, with his guide and Argo driver would glass the hills and valleys looking for a good trophy, typically 8-points or more. Once the stag has been spotted the stalk would begin trying to close the distance to approximately 100-150 yards.   Our outfitter has numerous areas to hunt with the best opportunity for a classic free range stag.  Afterwards do some touring and visit pubs and enjoy the beautiful landscape and countryside and the warm hospitality of the Scottish folks. Typical hunts are 4-5 days with lodging in quaint Bed and Breakfasts or upgrade to hunting estate lodges.

HUNT Experience |
Turkey

The most sought-after species in Turkey is the bezoar ibex with Turkey holding the largest populations. Bezoar ibex are among the most striking of all ibex species and have horns that can reach 55 inches, although 45 inches is more typical.   They are found spread along the Taurus mountain range that extends from the Western Mediterranean all the way East. Most of the hunting in Turkey takes place in remote mountainous areas  and the hunting can be challenging. Another popular species in Turkey is the the wild boar. Turkey is unsurpassed in terms of population of wild boar in Europe. Many of the hunts are conducted at night under the moonlight and the they are very cunning.   Other species to hunt in Turkey include the Anatolian red stag (found exclusively in Turkey), Anatolian chamois, and roe deer.
Along with the wonderful  hunting opportunities, Turkey is well known for its architectural wonders, world-class shopping, and its rich history as the meeting point of Asia and Europe with a well-developed tourism infrastructure.

HUNT Experience #6 |
Russia

Want a fantastic deal on brown bear hunt?  Head to the Kamchatka peninsula in Russia.  Price is way cheaper than Alaska but the quality of bear is the same. We work  with outfitter who has been taking hunters here since 1994. Camps are fully equipped and staffed by experienced guides, skinners, cook and interpreter.  One of the most successful trophy brown bear hunts in the world today.

The hunts are conducted in the spring from mid April to May with  generally a group of eight hunters on a 10-day hunt. The outfitter has  the flexibility to vary the hunting location from year to year, based on spring temperatures, snowpack and forage. Hunts on the west of the peninsula usually take place in late April or early May, and hunts on the east side usually take place in mid-May. Sometimes they use permanent camps, and sometimes tented camps.  Snow mobiles are used to cover ground and spot bears.   The  price of the hunt includes helicopter costs and trophy fee for one bear. A second bear may be taken for an additional trophy fee.

Outfitter meets American hunters in JFK and clear guns in Moscow, then fly eight hours to Petropavlovsk. From there it is a nine-hour drive north to the town of Esso, where hunters overnight at a bed and breakfast before a 1.5 hour flight to camp.  The outfitter’s wife is from Russia and accompanies us along with guides and translators, so communication is not a problem.

HUNT Experience #7 |
Argentina

Argentina is one of the popular hunting destination in the world, and  an excellent destination for big-game hunters.   It has some of the best free-range red stag hunting in the world. Red stags were originally introduced into Patagonia in the foothills of the Andes and La Pampa Province a hundred years ago. Water buffalo were also introduced many years ago and they are a worthy trophy as well.

We love this country for the variety of species and the different areas to hunt. From down south to the mountainous area of Patagonia in the Andes to the grasslands of the Pampas, this is a great destination for the dollar.

One of our outfitters out of La Pampa area offers it all!  This includes water buffalo,  red stag, mouflon, blackbuck, fallow deer, axis deer, puma, brocket deer, collared peccary, wild boar and capybara. Of course this hunt can be combined with the world class dove hunting too!

Be sure to spend some time in Buenos Aires which is a very sophisticated city with wonderful shops, nightlife and restaurants.

HUNT Experience #9 |
Greenland

Musk Ox – A Step Back in Time

Humans hunted muskox ever since the first hunter gatherers colonized the Arctic, and probably never ceased to be amazed by the adaptations of the species to the harsh climate of the tundra. The length of the muskox hair has to be seen to be believed.  Muskox are herd animals who react to danger by “circling the wagons”, with calves in the middle, and the rest of the herd with their backs to them, and sharp horns directed to the predator. Mature bulls feature a great, well-developed boss, that can be as intimidating to behold as any Cape Buffalo. These horns will be a long-lasting symbol of a journey to the wild and beautiful Greenland.  Muskox hunting may seem like a simple spot-and-stalk deal, but it is full of unexpected challenges . One is age and sex identification. Both sexes carry horns of roughly the same size; look for a well-developed boss to know a bull.  Second is the terrain, the ground is very uneven and good boots that give ankle support are a must.

Trip Details:  5 nights 4 days includes one muskox, guides, meals, lodging in tented camp.  Hunts are conducted using a boat on the rivers and fiords to where the musk ox are grazing.   Add Reindeer for  trophy fee.  Fly thru Copenhagen to Kangerlussag, Greenland and hunt is conducted July-August timeframe.

From a previous client:

“The trip was really great, I found Greenland to be a pristine wilderness just a 20 minute boat ride out of town.  The native species were abundant and curious, giving the impression that they may have never seen a human being before.   Outfitters were excellent hosts, they treated us like family and worked 18 hour days every day we hunted.  They hauled a tremendous amount of flesh and fur unbelievable distances through very difficult terrain and remained cheery and humorous throughout.

The facilitators were also delightful and worked extremely hard as guides, spotters, skinners and haulers.  I can affirm without doubt that I will gladly hunt with them again in any environment for any period of time.  They’re solid people and great to have in camp.

I definitely enjoyed Greenland, in fact I kind of fell in love with it and the lifestyle that harsh environment requires of its inhabitants.  The thrill of being required to focus primarily on survival year round is both seductive and intoxicating in a way that I had not previously experienced.  I will definitely go back, as the Musk Ox portion of the hunt is one I can do with my children.  I may even buy a glacier-river beach house on my next trip.
